ABOUT THE COURSE
Whether you are an early Cross Country Soaring Pilot or a highly experienced Competition Pilot you can benefit enormously from a week of performance coaching with G Dale.
G Dale is a professional gliding coach, formerly the British National Gliding Team Coach, the author of "The Soaring Engine (Volumes 1 through 4)". He is three times British National Club Class Champion and the 2018 British Champion, has achieved multiple top 5 placings in the World and European Gliding Championships including second place in 2018 at the European Gliding FCC competition at Prievidza in Slovakia.
G has spent over ten years in residence during the New Zealand soaring season at Omarama as Chief Coach with Gavin Wills' Glide Omarama where he established himself as one of the world's top gliding experts in mountain and lee wave flying.
Now from November 2022 you can book a full week with G to learn cross country soaring skills, top up and improve your existing skills or even prepare for top level competition soaring. G. Dale will again be in residence full time at Narromine during November and December 2022, starting Monday 31 October 2022.
The G. Dale courses will be unavailable during the first two weeks of December 2023 due to the 37th FAI WORLD GLIDING CHAMPIONSHIPS which will be held at Narromine at that time.
G Dale will be running his outstanding Cross Country Coaching Courses during that time. Flying each day will commence with a full weather and task briefing followed by either a group or one-on-one cross country coaching session. The courses can be tailored to suit your experience level and requirements from first cross country to National Competition standard.
You can bring your own glider or hire one of the Narromine Club single seaters and fly Lead-and-Follow with G around the tasks or fly with G in one of the two Narromine Duo Discus.

G DALE PERFORMANCE CROSS COUNTRY COACHING COURSE
All courses run from Monday to Friday, however you may want to plan to arrive on the Saturday, undertake orientation and check flights by the Club on Sunday if required and be ready to go Cross Country with G Dale from Monday.
If weather scrubs one of the week days you should plan to fly the following Saturday.
Course fees are exclusive of glider hire and launches.
Launches are by Aerotow (Pawnee) to 2000 ft AGL. All dual flying with G is conducted in the Duo Discus. Cost of hire for the Duo will be charged at the Glider hire rate published on the club website. Just click on the FLEET/BOOKINGS menu link.
The Glider hire and towing fee is payable at the end of the course based on usage and the course fee is payable in advance by direct bank transfer to the Narromine Gliding Club.

The Narromine Gliding Club in-house facilities are World Class, featuring a modern air conditioned club room with wireless internet that extends the Broadband WiFi Internet access to the tie down area. It boasts a modern full kitchen and well stocked beer and wine 'fridge, indoor and outdoor dining and entertaining areas, 2 separate permanent BBQ's plus a portable modern stainless steel BBQ. The outdoor area boasts lots of green grass for children to play and includes a covered pagola and sun umbrellas for shade. The indoor areas provide lots of space for dining, or just relaxing with a cold beer, the modern shower and toilet facilities are professionally maintained and are spotless.
Adjacent to the Club House is the Narromine Aero Club which includes a fully serviced bar and restaurant.
There is a well equipped multimedia ready auditorium with the latest audio visual aids, PA, and presentation technology. The auditorium can seat over 200 people and is ideal for competition briefings, cross country soaring theory classes, presentation dinners, and meetings.
The glider tie down area has the capacity to tie down approximately 120 sailplanes by use of a cable system. Trailer parking is in line with the sailplanes. Water taps established along the lines of tie down with an underground, flush mounted water system.
